   6. Revisions to MYC ordinance

Minutes note: File number 170372 - A substitute ordinance relating to the term, composition, and attendance requirements of the city youth council. This ordinance: 1. Increases composition of the youth council from 15 to 17 members; the additional 2 members shall be at-large members nominated by the city clerk. 2. Establishes that the presence of 8 members shall constitute a quorum. 3. Establishes that nominations shall be submitted annually no later than July 1 to the common council for confirmation (compared to October 1 currently). 4. Deletes the provision prohibiting a person from being nominated to the youth council if the person is scheduled to graduate before the end of the term for which he or she is being nominated. 5. Establishes that members shall serve a term from September 1 to August 31 of the following year, rather than from November 1 to October 31, as currently provided. 6. Establishes that any member not meeting attendance requirements established by the city clerk shall have his or her seat declared vacant. This file will be voted on at the next Common Council of July 11th.
