Minutes note: Beth Weirick Downtown stated several projects are underway for Wisconsin Ave. including sculptures on display between June1st - October 22, 2017; utility box murials to begin in mid-May; Audio Walking Tour in late May; seasonal operation of the Milwaukee Trolley Loop in June, 2017. Stephanie Zamarripa Artistic Board Up Project stated they work with organizations that has an overwhelming amount of graffiti in the neighborhood. They will also place artistic boards up on vacant homes. Timothy McCollow Public Arts Project City Lots stated he works with making a city-owned vacant lot green by creating orchard parks with fruit trees and benches.

   4. Public Art Subcommittee Report

Minutes note: Ms. Morris made the following recommendation for Public Art New Work funding: $2500 to the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation for a statue of Welford Sanders. $3000 to the Garden District Neighborhood Association for a mural $4000 to CUPED for outdoor art at the Historic Garfield Campus. $6000 to the Greater Milwaukee Committee to support design development of the Beerline Trail Park. $2500 to Layton Blvd West Neighbors for the Silver City placemaking project. $3500 to Jazale's Art Studio for the Splash Project. $2500 to Milwaukee Downtown for a utility box mural project. $3500 to Five Points Neighborhood Association toward the artist fee to enhance a neighborhood vacant lot. The Harbor District withdrew their application this year. Ms. Morris recommended $27500 for 8 projects, seconded by Ms. Kingsbury. There were no objections. Conservation Funds: The subcommittee recommends $2500 for the Bells of Milwaukee and $564 for Juneau Park Friends. Ms. Morris recommended, seconded by Mr. Flores. There are no objections. Conservation Fund session will be held at the Haggerty Museum on May 18th.

   5. Vote on 2017 Project Grants

Minutes note: Mr. DeLind MAB Grant Review Panel Moderator The committee agreed to review the ranking process. Mr. DeLind moved approval to fund all organizations up to the 35th rank, seconded by Mr. Flores. There were no objections with the following Abstentions: Ald. Kovac abstaining Historic Milwaukee, Ms. Kingsbury abstaining Woodland Pattern, Mr. Flores abstaining Optimist Theatre, Ms. Layden abstaining Haggerty Museum of Art.

Minutes note: Ms. Morris announced that there will be a 2016 Fellowship Expedition opens with a Reception on Wednesday June 7th at the Haggerty Museum from 6 - 8PM. Ms. Witte announced that on Monday, June 12, 2017, there will be an Annual Award Reception at the Marcus Center at 4:30 PM, and Awards Program at 5:00 PM.
