Commissioner Totoraitis said the plan was being finalized with a publication rollout intended for October.
(b) Board Member Applications
There are a couple of physician candidates for Dr. Martin’s vacancy and also for Penelope Stewart’s vacancy. Ideally, these new Board Members will get approved during the September cycle for starting their terms in October. At that point, staff will work on setting up orientations with the state and also MHD.

Board Member Caroline Gomez-Tom asked about measles.
Commissioner Totoraiitis said there are no cases in Milwaukee. MHD has a measles plan at the ready, if needed. MHD remains stocked on MMR. Commissioner Totoraitis encouraged any parents to call MHD’s immunization team with questions. There has not been any notable increase in vaccination in response to the WI cases.

| | | | Deputy Commissioner of Environmental Health Tyler Weber presented on enforcement practices, data, and progress. This included an overview of the legal tools for enforcement, current efforts and funding, the general enforcement timeline, data related to cases dismissed/timeliness of citations and reinspection/citations, and enforcement examples. DC Weber noted that any sales or switching of LLCs requires MHD to go back to the start of the enforcement process again. MHD is investigating additional enforcement strategies as well as increasing penalties (which are limited by state law).
Board Member Caroline Gomez-Tom asked:
(Q1) when something is court ordered to be remediated, once the work has been done, are we inspecting to confirm?
A1: Deputy Commissioner Weber responded yes, MHD returns for clearance dust wipe samples. If the work is inadequate, MHD can add reinspection fees or take it back to court.
(Q2) if landlords are adequately remediating homes?
A2: DC Weber said future data collection can answer this better.
