| | | | 4. Public Art Subcommittee Report
Minutes note: As the new round of the PAIR program, their first job is to identify an agency with whom to collaborate; five applications have been received for consideration for 2026.
These applications came from the Milwaukee Fire Department, the Milwaukee Election Commission, the Department of Neighborhood Services, the Department of City Development, and the Milwaukee Public Library.
Public Arts Subcommittee reviewed these applications and assessed them by focusing on four main points: Defined pressing civic issue, the opportunity for creative interventions around the pressing issue, Department Strengths to support a successful PAIR residency and Potential to advance. The Subcommittee recommends to accept the Fire department’s proposal, which was about safe and survivable housing.
The application addressed all of the points; they presented as a strength the fact that they have fire stations all over the city, also they met the $5,000 required to put towards the project.

Minutes note: 1. 2026 Awards Nomination Form -
The form updated have been completed and it is ready for its press release sometime this week.
Member Morris, moved approval of the form. There were no objections.
2. 2026 Sustaining Grant Program -
Application was released over a month ago; a handful of applications have been submitted, some from past applicants, some from potential new applicants that have asked for technical assistance.
The annual information session for applicants and grant writers will be on February 12. These sessions will be recorded for future reference of all attendees. Arts Board members are welcomed to serve on the Sustaining Gran Review panel. All panelist receive a $200 honorarium to serve. | | | |
