a. 2026 Awards Nominations and Voting
Minutes note: Staff led the review and voting process of the 18 nominees received for Artist of the Year.
David Najib Kasir and Ojumire Dounfola Charleston were selected for this year's awardees.
Staff led the review and voting process of the 11 nominees received for the Friends of the Art.
Ferne Yangyeitie Caulker and Karl Kopp were selected for this year's awardees.
These will be announced, possibly in early May and the June 9 Art Celebration program.

a. Sustaining Grant Program
Minutes note: Sustaining Grant review panel is progressing well and panelists have received applications and scoring criteria. Panelist completed training led by staff, with support from the City Attorney's Office. 61 eligible, complete applications are under review. Review panel meeting will be virtual, Friday, May 8. Recommendations will be brought to the next Arts Board meeting on May 12. | | | |

Minutes note: Lynden Sculpture Garden will mark the transition from winter to spring on April 25 when International Sculpture Day coincides with Earth Week. They will celebrate International Sculpture Day by making their own small 3D objects and launching them into the sky (Kites Over Lynden).
Milwaukee Vision Zero will be on hand with another moving sculpture, Sarah Davitt’s Moving City.
