Minutes note: Initial meeting took place and committee forming Will take place on Dec. 7th at Turner Hall from 11:30am to 2:00pm Collaboration with Exec. Dir. Emilio De Torre will collaborate by contacting community members to form a panelist list Budget will be created and presented to the Equal Rights Commission Chief for approval. The budget will include the cost of using facility, lunch and technology for audio broadcast and speaker’s stipend. Graphic design flyer Christina Klaus will be invited for collaboration Awards will be provided to previous active Commissioner members recognizing their contribution Wauwatosa Human Rights Commission will be invited for collaboration with committee Theme: Equality: Reducing Inequalities and Advancing Human Rights Equal Rights Commission will present 109 Chapter by TBA for 20 minutes during event

   5. Governance Committee Communication

Minutes note: • 22 applicants have submitted applications, some don’t live in the city and others no longer interested • 6 has been interviewed and 4 more interviews coming up • Good candidates with 7 positions open in total • It is expected that at least 4 or 5 candidates will be submitted by next week • It is the hope of the Commissioners that by the Sept. Council meeting 4 will be approved and ready to start

Minutes note: • Jason Ostrowski City of Milwaukee ADA Coordinator since late January 2024 • Tent has been ordered and it is expected to be delivered by Friday this week • Civility in Our Times panel discussion will take place on Monday Sept 9th from 6:30 to 8:00pm at 1100 S 5t Street • Flavors of Africa coming up in Sept. 2024 innovative tasting event to bring community together to experience African cuisine. It is about civil conversation to begin to know each other and LGBTQ folks from Africa will be present • Asian Moon Festival Sept. 15th will take place in Brookfield
