     4. Review and Selection of the 2024 award winner(s).

Minutes note: There were three candidates submitted for this year: Fatima K Laster by Deidra Trotter Bailey Murph by Mike Totoraitis Martha Love by Bianca Shaw Members discussed the candidates and after expressing their interactions and life experiences, mentorship and collaboration from this candidate, it was unanimously decided upon Martha Love to be the 2024 Vel R Phillips Trailblazer Award recipient. Mr. Phillips said that as part of Vel R Phillips Plaza, there will be kiosks and also he would like for all the recipients of this award throughout the years, be displayed in the plaza.

     5. Reappointment of Members for the next 3-year term.

Minutes note: All members agree to continue their participation in this body. Ald. Coggs expressed her gratitude for their involvement and said that they were specifically selected for their involvement and collaboration with Ms. Phillips work and efforts.

     6. Announcements.

Minutes note: Ms. Colby mentioned the Earn and Learn Program and to have information available at the Girls Day @ City Hall on March 20. Mr. Phillips said that the Final approval of the Statue of Vel R Phillips, is coming soon. Statue would probably be in place this summer. It had been about 4 1/2 years, for this process. Ald. Coggs mentioned that CBS58 approached her for an interview, possibly for Women History Month piece. For future meeting, meetings of the body should be scheduled on after 4:00PM, in consideration of the Youth Council representative and the fact that their School day ends on or around 3:30ish.
