Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works to accept a donation of materials for improving the 29^th and Melvina play area located at 2835 W. Melvina St.

Body

Whereas, Section 304-24 of the Code of Ordinances regulates the receipt, appropriation and expenditure of contributions received by the City; and

Whereas, There is an interest by the community to make improvements to the 29^th and Melvina play area located at 2835 W. Melvina St.; and

Whereas, Community groups, including City on a Hill, Northwest Side Community Development Corporation and Rock the Lakes, working with various City departments and the Milwaukee Public Schools, have purchased the following materials to be used for 29^th and Melvina play area improvements: a bench, gardening supplies, paints, pavers and plants; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Public Works is authorized to accept this donation of materials to improve the 29^th and Melvina play area located at 2835 W. Melvina St.;

and, be it

Further Resolved, That the authority to accept donations for this purpose shall continue unless otherwise rescinded by future Common Council action; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Common Council expresses its sincere appreciation to the community groups, City departments and the Milwaukee Public Schools for donating materials and for initiating improvements to the 29^th and Melvina play area.
