Title
Resolution relative to the application, acceptance and funding of Storm Water Best Management Best Practices grant from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District for the alleys project in the area between South 21st Street, South 24th Street, West Ohio Avenue and West Morgan Avenue and authorizing and directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a grant funding agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works, Infrastructure Services Division to accept and fund a Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Storm Water Best Management Practices Program in the amount of $147,535.65 with an MMSD reimbursement amount of $98,748.98 with no required City of Milwaukee (City) match. The purpose of the funding is to install storm water Best Management Practices in the alleys located in the area between South 21st Street, South 24th Street, West Ohio Avenue and West Morgan Avenue. This reimbursement funding will aid in the City’s construction cost to reduce peak flows into the storm sewer systems and improve its quality. This resolution also authorizes and directs the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a funding agreement between the City and the MMSD.

Whereas, The City is eligible for grant from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) through its Municipal Storm Water Best Management Practices funding program for the installation of a 4-foot wide strip of pervious concrete pavement and a 2 to 3 feet wide permeable paver section (Perma Pave) in the middle of the alleys bounded by South 21st Street, South 24th Street, West Ohio Avenue and West Morgan Avenue; and
