Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of Administration to examine City and County purchasing opportunities for potential collaborations.

Body

Whereas, The Department of Administration enhances the ability of City agencies to provide high-quality, valued services at a cost citizens can afford, and develops and recommends policies that protect the City's fiscal foundation; and

 

Whereas, If there are areas in which the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County can collaborate in the delivery of products and services, there is potential for cost savings and service delivery efficiencies; and

 

Whereas, The 2026 Budget was adopted by Common Council File Number 250001 on November 7, 2025; and

 

Whereas, Amendment 12 placed a footnote in the 2026 Budget directing the Department of Administration to examine City and County purchasing opportunities for potential collaborations; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of Administration shall examine City and County purchasing opportunities for potential collaborations; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Administration shall communicate its findings to the Common Council within 120 days of adoption of this resolution.
