Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to execute two State/Municipal Agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming and construction of traffic signal improvements using Highway Safety Improvement Program funds for two projects in various Aldermanic Districts. The total estimated cost of both projects is $371,100 with a grantor share of $333,990, and a City share of $37,110. The total estimated preliminary engineering cost for these two projects is $35,000, with a grantor share of $31,500 and a City share of $3,500, approval of construction costs will be in a future resolution.

Whereas, The submittal of a Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant applications for 28 Connecting Highway Intersections - 12-Inch Signal Grant #1 and 37 Local Street Intersections - 12-Inch Signal Grant #2 to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WISDOT) was approved by the Common Council under File Number 091368; and

Whereas, Preliminary approval has been requested and received from WISDOT along with two State/Municipal Agreements to be executed by the City of Milwaukee, for the programming and construction of two projects under the 2011 HSIP; and

Whereas, WISDOT has submitted two State/Municipal Agreements for execution by the City of Milwaukee for the design and construction of:
