Resolution authorizing the execution of an agreement for the installation, operation, and maintenance of a new traffic control signal at the intersection of North Cambridge Avenue and East North Avenue in the 3rd Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to enter into an agreement and construct a traffic control signal at the intersection of North Cambridge Avenue and East North Avenue in the 3rd Aldermanic District. Funds for the installation of the traffic control signal will be placed on deposit with the Department of Public Works under a private interest signal agreement with the UWM Real Estate Foundation, Inc. with 0% of the funding for installation provided by the City of Milwaukee. Funding for the operation of the traffic control will be provided for through the same private interest signal agreement with the UWM Real Estate Foundation, Inc paying $60 a month towards operation of the traffic signal.

Whereas, The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee is building a dormitory on the north side of East North Avenue at North Cambridge Avenue; and

Whereas, The UWM Real Estate Foundation, Inc. requested the installation of a traffic control signal at the intersection of North Cambridge Avenue and East North Avenue; and

Whereas, The UWM Real Estate Foundation, Inc. has agreed to fund 100% of the cost for installation of the traffic control signal; and

Whereas, The total estimated installation cost is estimated to be $65,000, with any cost overruns paid by UWM Real Estate Foundation, Inc.; and

Whereas, The UWM Real Estate Foundation, Inc. will pay $60 a month towards the operation of the traffic control signal; now, therefore, be it
