Resolution relative to application, acceptance, and funding of a Clickit or Ticket Enforcement 2010 grant.
Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to apply for, accept, and fund a Clickit or Ticket Enforcement grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety in the amount of $100,000. The purpose of this grant is to encourage extraordinary seat-belt enforcement thru the use of unconventional belt enforcement efforts.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for a Clickit or Ticket Enforcement grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Bureau of Transportation Safety, and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 4/21/10 to 09/30/10 would cost $125,000 of which $100,000 (75%) would be provided by the grantor; and 25,000 (25%) would be provided by the city; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation is authorized and the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2010 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: Clickit or Ticket Enforcement 2010 Project Grant:
