Title

Substitute resolution appropriating $100,000 from the Milwaukee Police Department’s Operation Safe Neighborhoods fund account to the 2010 Community Development Block Grant contingent fund.

Analysis

This resolution provides that the amount of $100,000 be appropriated from the Milwaukee Police Department’s Operation Safe Neighborhoods project to the 2010 Community Development Block Grant contingent fund to replenish the fund.

Body

Whereas, Community Development Block Grants’ primary goal is developing viable urban communities through decent housing, a suitable living environment and economic opportunity; and

Whereas, The Community Development Block Grant contingent fund provides funding for emergency situations; and

Whereas, The Community Development Block Grant contingent fund has become depleted; and

Whereas, Common Council Resolution Number 100277 allocates $110,000 to the Milwaukee Police Department permitting funds for the Operation Safe Neighborhoods project to be transferred from the Community Development Block Grant contingent fund; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the amount of $100,000 shall be appropriated to the 2010 Community Development Block Grant contingent fund from the Milwaukee Police Department’s Operation Safe Neighborhoods project; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is directed to appropriate $100,000 from the Milwaukee Police Department’s Operation Safe Neighborhoods project to the 2010 Community Development Block Grant contingent fund.
