Matt Lerner from Maistelman & Associates Ald. Zielinski at the table at the side of the licensee. Both Atty. Halbrooks and Ald. Zielinski have no objection to not read the police report as it was part of the earlier revocation hearing. Atty. Halbrooks objected to including the police report as hearsay and the generic nature of the notice. Make transcript of the committee hearing of 1/19/10 part of the record, by Ald. Kovac. Prevailed. 4-0 Atty. Halbrooks stated that his client wishes to withdraw his Tavern Dance renewal application. Atty. Accept withdrawal of the Tavern Dance license application, by Ald. Kovac. Prevailed. 3-0 (Ald. Coggs excused) Ald. Zielinski is still concerned that even if the bar has improved, the district captain said that this is the worst establishment in his district; it may have improved, but it's still a bad bar. Objectors: Dan Estrada - 2726 S. 13th St. - head of security for another establishment down the street - he sees individuals loitering outside the establishment at 2:30 a.m. There were 2 other individuals present, but they had no additonal testimony to provide that wasn't provided at the previous hearing. Supporters: Dave Schmidt - owns a property at 2969 S. 13th - glad to see the establishment going back to more of a local bar. Larry King - 2900 N. 59th St. - bouncer at the establishment. Tracy Colbert - 5448 N. 83rd St. Letta Martin - 3414 N. 15th St. Natashea Hogans - 8711 W. Congress Amber Rowan - 928 S. 19th St. Apt. 4 Louis Santiago - 4650 N. 38th St. - bartender at the establishment Sonja Gomez - 2165 S. 20th St. Samantha Daugherty - Menomonee Falls Greg Holmes - 2936A S. 13th St. - lives above the bar and rents from Mr. Coralic Amanda Star - 2936A S. 13th St. - lives above the bar and rents from Mr. Coralic Vojislav Tubic - 3703 W. Ruskins St. - had provided testimony 2 meetings ago; not at the last meeting. Officer Carlos Felix - has no additional information from what testimony was provided at the previous meeting. He has no personal testimony as to whether this is still the worst bar in the district. Mr. Coralic provided a statement prior to the closing statements and answered questions from committee members. Ald. Zielinski and Atty. Halbrooks both provided closing statements. Non-renewal of the Class "B" tavern, based on the police report, neighbor testimony, police department testimony and aldermanic testimony, by Ald. Kovac. Failed. 2-2 (Ald. Coggs and Ald. Bohl voting "no'; Ald Zielinski excused) Grant the Class "B" Tavern, with a 90-day suspension based on the police report, neighbor testimony, police department testimony and aldermanic testimony, by Ald.
