This resolution authorizes an expenditure of $180,000 from the Development Fund for upgrades to the Canadian Pacific Railroad crossing on South Second Street, north of the Milwaukee River, to create a “quiet zone.”
Body
Whereas, The 2009 Capital Budget for the City of Milwaukee (“City”) earmarked funds for the Development Fund; and
Whereas, The Development Fund is used for infrastructure and public improvements that promote private investment and development that enhance the quality of life in the City; and
Whereas, A project has been proposed to upgrade the Canadian Pacific Railroad crossing on South Second Street, north of the Milwaukee River, to create a “quiet zone;” and
Whereas, The total project cost is $360,000, and a $180,000 investment from the Development Fund is necessary to complete the funding for the project; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is directed to transfer $180,000 from the Development Fund Project Account No. 9990-UR03309000A to Account No. 1910-UR03398700; and, be it
Further Resolved, That said funds are designated for public improvements that are necessary to create a “quiet zone” at the Canadian Pacific Railroad crossing on South Second Street, north of the Milwaukee River; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Commissioner of the Department of City Development is directed to enter into any contracts, agreements and instruments necessary to carryout said public improvements.
