Analysis

This resolution appropriates up to $5,000 from the Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account to fund VIA’s Silver City InterNational Festival, to be held on September 9^th, 2023.

Body

Whereas, The Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account is used to promote the City’s economic development programs; and

Whereas, The Silver City InterNational Festival is a free community event that celebrates and showcases the cultural diversity of the Silver City Neighborhood and the local businesses within it; and

Whereas, The Silver City InterNational Festival provides an important economic opportunity for local vendors; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that up to $5,000 is appropriated from the 2023 Community and Economic Development Committee Fund Special Purpose Account No. 0001-1310-S123-006300 to the VIA Silver City InterNational Festival; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the appropriate City officials are authorized and directed to negotiate and enter into an agreement with the VIA Silver City InterNational Festival for the purposes of accepting City funds to be used to promote and support the work of the event.
