Analysis

This resolution directs the Office of Violence Prevention to work with the Department of City Development regarding City programs and properties to develop long-term strategies.

Body

Whereas, The Adopted 2023 City Budget included Amendment 11, a footnote directing the Office of Violence Prevention to work with the Department of City Development regarding City programs and properties to develop long-term strategies; and

 

Whereas, The Office of Violence Prevention funds programs which operate in various locations in the city; and

 

Whereas, It is expected collaboration between the Office of Violence Prevention and the Department of City Development on long-term strategies for properties in the city will aid in efforts to prevent and decrease violent crime in the neighborhoods where there are city owned properties and projects; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Office of Violence Prevention is directed to work with the Department of City Development regarding City programs and properties to develop long-term strategies; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Office of Violence Prevention and the Department of City Development report long-term strategies developed regarding City programs and properties to the Common Council by June 30, 2023.
