Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a 2022 Homeland Security Program Aligned Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) Bomb Team Static X-Ray Device grant from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs Wisconsin Emergency Management in the amount of $32,000 with a city share of $0 and a grantor share of $32,000. The purpose of the grant is to purchase a static x-ray device to image and identify suspicious packages for safe handling and disposal to limit risk to officers and the public.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs Wisconsin Emergency Management to purchase a static x-ray device to image and identify suspicious packages for safe handling and disposal to limit risk to officers and the public; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 11/29/2022 to 7/28/2023 would cost $32,000 of which, $0 would be provided by the city and $32,000 (100%) would be provided by the grantor; now therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2022 Special Revenue - Grant and Aid Projects the following amounts for the program/project titled 2022 Bomb Team Static X-Ray Device Grant:
