Title

Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a $45,000 change order to the Green Solutions funding agreement with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District for the installation of bioswales within the service drive median areas of West Oklahoma Avenue from South 61st Street to South 72nd Street, in the 11th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works, Infrastructure Services Division, to execute a $45,000 change order to the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Green Solutions grant funding for the construction of bioswales with a revised maximum reimbursement amount of $160,000. The bioswales will be constructed in the service drive median of West Oklahoma Avenue between South 61st Street and South 72nd Street. The change order is necessary because the cost of the project has increased more than what was originally funded by the grant.

Body

Whereas, Common Council File No 211875 authorized the City to enter into an agreement (Green Solutions Funding Agreement G98005P88) with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) to accept and fund a Green Solutions grant for the installation of bioswales in the service drive median of West Oklahoma Avenue between South 61st Street and South 72nd Street.; and

Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to accept and execute a change order to the MMSD Green Solutions grant agreement in accordance with Milwaukee Code of Ordinances 304-81, and to execute the change order in the form submitted to this file, or in substantial conformity thereto; and, be it

Further Resolved, That upon approval of the change order to said Agreement, the City Comptroller is authorized to create within the Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund the appropriate Project/Grant Chartfield Value for this project, and transfer to these accounts the amount required under the agreement and City accounting policy, but not to exceed a ten percent increase of the total amounts reserved for the grantor’s share and local share or $5,000, whichever is greater, as follows:

Further Resolved, That these funds are appropriated to the Department of Public Works, which is authorized to expend from the amount budgeted for specific purposes as indicated in the grant budgets and incur costs consistent with the award date; and, be it
