Title
Resolution authorizing the Community Intervention Task Force to engage the services of the Law Enforcement Assistance Partnership, Inc., to analyze calls-for-service data gathered from the City’s 911 system.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Community Intervention Task Force to engage the services of the Law Enforcement Assistance Partnership, Inc. (LEAP), at no cost to the City, to analyze calls-for-service data to assist the Task Force in developing recommendations on how to more effectively and appropriately respond to 911 calls-for-service. It further authorizes the Police and Fire Departments, and all other necessary City agencies, to sign the Data Privacy Agreement submitted by the LEAP.

Whereas, The Community Intervention Task Force believes an analysis of calls-for-service data gathered from the City’s 911 system will be helpful in formulating recommendations on how to more effectively and appropriately respond to 911 calls-for-service; and

Whereas, The Law Enforcement Action Partnership (LEAP) has offered to analyze calls-for-service data gathered from the City’s 911 system at no cost to the City; and

Whereas, LEAP has proposed that the City sign a Data Privacy Agreement governing calls-for-service data collection; and

Whereas, The Office of the City Attorney has approved LEAP’s proposed Data Privacy Agreement; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Community Intervention Task Force is authorized to engage the services of the Law Enforcement Assistance Partnership, Inc., at no cost to the City, to analyze calls-for-service data, consistent with the attached Tailored Scope - Milwaukee LEAP Scope of Work document, to assist the Task Force in developing recommendations on how to more effectively and appropriately respond to 911 calls-for-service; and, be it
