Title:
Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of an Advanced Training Grant.

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to apply for, accept, and fund an Advanced Training Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice, Training and Standards Bureau, in the amount of $25,500. The purpose of this project is to provide specialized/advanced training to members of the Milwaukee Police Department.

Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice, for an Advanced Training Grant; and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 11/01/09 to 02/27/10 would cost $25,500, of which 100% would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Department of Justice, Training and Standards Bureau, is authorized and the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordnances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2009 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the Advanced Training Grant:
