Analysis
On April 15, 2022, the Wisconsin Supreme Court, in Johnson v. Wisconsin Elections Commission, adopted state legislative district maps drawn by the Wisconsin Legislature. These maps split a number of election wards in the City of Milwaukee, necessitating creation of several new wards and the adoption of a new City election ward map (Common Council File Number 211801). This ordinance revises the enumeration of wards by aldermanic district to include the numbers of the newly-created wards. The ordinance makes no changes to aldermanic district boundaries.
