Title
Substitute resolution relative to the acceptance and funding of the Credible Messengers Program from Milwaukee County.

Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes the Office of Violence Prevention to accept and expend $250,000 from Milwaukee County to fund the 414Life credible messenger program.

Body
Whereas, Milwaukee County and the City of Milwaukee share the goal of reducing interpersonal violence through numerous strategies including violence interruption; and

Whereas, Milwaukee County Board resolution 21-1021 authorized County officials to expend funding totaling $250,000 for credible messenger efforts through the Milwaukee Health Department’s Office of Violence Prevention, now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acceptance of the grant from Milwaukee County is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2021 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled 414Life - Milwaukee County Share 2022:

Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
