Analysis
This resolution designates MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit an annual official City event in the city of Milwaukee. The resolution also authorizes the City Clerk’s Office to accept and expend donations for its support.
Body
Whereas, The purpose of the MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit is to support the growth of local entrepreneurship and help innovators stimulate economic development, neighborhood reinvestment and job creation; and
Whereas, The MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit has successfully connected aspiring entrepreneurs with valuable city resources, business startup workshops and mentorship from established business professionals; and
Whereas, Various local businesses, business organizations, educational institutions, State and Federal agencies and the City of Milwaukee participate in the MKE Business NOW Entrepreneurship Summit each year, including the Department of Neighborhood Services, the Milwaukee Economic Development Corporation and the Office of Equity and Inclusion; and
Whereas, Supporting Milwaukee’s diverse and varied entrepreneurs through the MKE Business Now Summit exemplifies a commitment to economic development and innovation and creates an environment where established and new businesses can prosper together; and
Whereas, The need for assistance and mentorship for local businesses and entrepreneurs has only grown in light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic; and
Whereas, MKE Business Now Entrepreneurship Summit 2022 marks the tenth anniversary of this community-building event; now, therefore, be it
