Substitute resolution amending Resolution File Number 080623, relating to the Intergovernmental Agreement for the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative between the City and the Milwaukee Board of School Directors.

Analysis:                     

This resolution amends Resolution File Number #080623, adopted on September 16, 2008, which approved an Intergovernmental Agreement for the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative between the City and the Milwaukee Board of School Directors, so that the Police Department can accept additional grant funding, in line with the agreement of $192,000 for a grant total of $288,000.

 Body:

Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 080623 on September 16, 2008, approving an Intergovernmental Agreement for the Safe Schools/Healthy Students Initiative between the City and the Milwaukee Board of School Directors (copy of which is attached to this file); and

Whereas, Grant funding listed for the period of the 2008/09 school year through the 2010/11 school year, was $96,000; and

Whereas, The agreement is for $96,000 per year; and

Whereas, This agreement crosses a period of three school years; and

Whereas, A correction is needed to add $192,000 to the grant total; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Resolution File Number 080623 adopted on September 16, 2008, is amended by deleting the amount “$96,000” in the 2^nd  “Further Resolved” clause under Item 1, and inserting in lieu thereof the amount “$288,000”, thereby increasing the grant by $192,000.
