Title

Substitute motion directing the Department of City Development to initiate a zoning map amendment to change the zoning of lands located in the vicinity of North Jackson Street and East Summerfest Place from Industrial Mixed, IM, to an appropriate Central Business, C9, zoning designation, in the 4th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This motion directs the Department of City Development to draft and introduce a zoning map amendment to change the zoning designation of lands located on the southern end of the Third Ward neighborhood, on E Erie Street, N Jefferson Street, E Summerfest Place, and North Marshall Street, from Industrial Mixed, IM, to an appropriate Central Business, C9, zoning designation, in the 4th Aldermanic District.

 

Body

Whereas, Section 295-307-2 of the Code of Ordinances provides that an amendment to the City’s zoning map may be initiated by a motion of the Common Council; and

 

Whereas, Section 295-307-3 of the Code provides that, upon adoption of the Common Council motion, the Department of City Development shall prepare an ordinance and corresponding map for the zoning map amendment; now, therefore

 

It is moved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Department of City Development is directed to draft and introduce an ordinance to change the zoning classification of lands located on the southern end of the Third Ward neighborhood, on E Erie Street, N Jefferson Street, E Summerfest Place, and North Marshall Street, from Industrial Mixed, IM, to an appropriate Central Business, C9, zoning designation, in the 4th Aldermanic District, pursuant to Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Chapter 295-1005.
