This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Fire Department, through its Chief, to amend the City’s ambulance service provider contracts with Bell Ambulance, Inc. (Bell) and Curtis-Universal (Curtis), Inc. to include subsidy payments from January - December, 2022.

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee entered into ambulance service provider contracts with Bell Ambulance, Inc. and Curtis-Universal, Inc. on or around December 19, 2017 as further set forth in Common Council File Number 171263; and

 

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee amended these original ambulance service provider contracts with Bell and Curtis on October 25, 2021 to include subsidy payments from March-December, 2021; and

 

Whereas, in order for these private ambulance service providers to continue to operate throughout their assigned areas in the City of Milwaukee, the City and the providers agree that the City will provide a subsidy payment as set forth in written amendments to the Bell and Curtis contracts for ambulance service calls between January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Fire Department may amend the City’s ambulance service provider contracts with Bell Ambulance, Inc. and Curtis-Universal, Inc. to include subsidy payments from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022; and be it 

 

Further Resolved, that the amendments shall be in a form substantially similar to those included within this file; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, that the Fire Chief is authorized to sign such amendments.
