Minutes note: Applicant at the table, 6455 S. 20th St., Apt. 1, Oak Creek. Atty. Jeffery Guerard at the table as counsel. Alex Runner, Staff Assistant to Ald. Willie Hines, also at the table. Atty. Guerard says that the applicant does not have any plans to apply for a liquor license at the location in the future. He also said that the applicant only plans on selling packaged goods. The applicant says that he only works occasionally at a store at 44th and North Avenue for a friend. Mr. Runner says that the alderman's office has been told the applicant is the manager of the store at 44th and North Avenue, which is a location with a history of problems, including drug activity. Mr. Runner says that the applicant has not shown any interest or involvement in the neighborhood. Atty. Guerard says that the business will help the community and that the store will increase competition in the area, which will bring prices down. Ald. Hamilton moves to deny the application based on the testimony received and the police report. Prevailed 5-0.
