Body
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) owns and manages more than 4,000 units of low-rent public housing under the terms of an Annual Contributions Contract with the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and
WHEREAS, HACM developed the land at 7201 W. Oklahoma Ave. by constructing a 4-family public housing building in 1972; and
WHERAS, HACM has since been leasing the land at 7201 W Oklahoma Ave. for the public housing units from the City of Milwaukee; and
WHERAS, the purchase of the land at 7201 W. Oklahoma Ave. for $1.00 would accord full ownership rights to HACM to freely use and possess the land; and
WHEREAS, staff is recommending that the request to submit the offer for the purchase of the land located at 7201 W. Oklahoma Ave. in the amount of $1.00 be accepted; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of the above described property is consistent with HACM’s mission to provide affordable public housing; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee that the request for the submission of the offer in the amount of $1.00 for the purchase of the land at 7201 W. Oklahoma Ave. is hereby accepted; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Acting Secretary-Executive Director is hereby authorized to take the necessary action to complete the submission of the offer to purchase.
