Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the 2021-2022 Strengthening Public Health Laboratory (PHL) Preparedness through Laboratory Response Network (LRN) Project E: Emerging Issues Grant from Department of Health Services and Center of Disease Control in the amount of $142,523 100% grant share with no city match. The purpose of the grant is to strengthen surveillance, detection, and preparedness through the Laboratory Response Network (LRN),

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Department of Health Services and Center of Disease Control to strengthen surveillance, detection, and preparedness through the Laboratory Response Network (LRN); and

Whereas, The continued operation of this grant program from 08.01/2021 to 07.31.2022 would cost $142,523 100% grantor share with no city match; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application of this grant from the Department of Health Services and Center of Disease Control is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2021 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the program titled Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity Grant:
