Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File # 201329 relative to the 2021 Women, Infants and Children’s (WIC) Breast Feeding Peer Counseling Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The purpose of this grant is to provide peer support to women and families related to breastfeeding education and/or support. This grant supports participants currently enrolled in the WIC program.

Body
Whereas, Common Council File # 201329 authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the 2021 Women, Infants and Children’s (WIC) Breast Feeding Peer Counseling Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services for the purpose of providing peer support to women and families related to breastfeeding education and/or support; supporting participants currently enrolled in the WIC program. This grant provides a grantor share in the amount of $36,815 with no city match.

Whereas, the grantor share for this program is increased by $37,458 with no city match; and the total cost is increased by $37,458;

Whereas, the operation of this grant program from 01.01.2021 to 12.31.2021 would cost $74,273 completely funded by the Grantor; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it

Further Resolved,That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
