Analysis
This Resolution facilitates retaining Cade Law Group LLC to represent the City of Milwaukee in regarding Mr. Morales’ claims

Body
Whereas, on August 6, 2020, The City of Milwaukee Board of Fire and Police Commissioners demoted Mr. Morales from Chief of the Milwaukee Police Department to the rank of Captain and Mr. Morales subsequently retired; and

Whereas, on September 8, 2020 Mr. Morales filed a lawsuit in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, Alfonso Morales v. City of Milwaukee, et al 2020CV005352; and

Whereas, on December 18, 2020, the Milwaukee County Circuit Court reversed the City of Milwaukee Board of Fire and Police Commissioners’ decision to demote Mr. Morales; and

Whereas, due to the Court’s finding that Mr. Morales’ demotion was improper, the City of Milwaukee anticipates further claims being brought by Mr. Morales against the City; and

Whereas, the City of Milwaukee desires to retain The Cade Law Group LLC to represent its interests in the Morales matter; and

Whereas, The Cade Law Group LLC is currently retained in three matters representing parties that are adverse to the City of Milwaukee Holloway v. City of Milwaukee, et al, E.D. Wis. 19-CV-1460; JerPaul Spencer v. Ed Flynn, et al, E.D. Wis. 16-CV-0662; and Eula Red v. Milwaukee Board of School Directors, E.D. Wis. 20-CV-0002; and

Whereas, The Cade Law Group LLC’s involvement in these matters present waivable conflicts of interest that would not hinder its ability to zealously and ethically represent the City of Milwaukee in the Morales matter; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the City of Milwaukee hereby waives...
