Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council Resolution #200254 relative to acceptance and funding of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Fund grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) in the amount of $168,920.59. These funds will aid the Milwaukee Fire Department (MFD) in its responsibility to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus in our community. The MFD, as a Medicare provider in 2019, received payment from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for health care related expenses or lost revenues that are attributable to the care for individuals with possible or actual cases of COVID-19 after January 31, 2020; and

Body
Whereas, Common Council File #200254 authorized the MFD to accept and fund the CARES Fund grant from the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) to aid the MFD in its responsibility to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus in our community. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $69,404.39; and

Whereas, the total expenditures of this grant is increased by $99,516.20 and will operate from February 1, 2020 to December 30, 2020, of which $168,920.59 is entirely provided by the grantor; and now therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the MFD is authorized to accept and expend the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Fund without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it


Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
