This resolution confirms the report of the Commissioner of Public Works, as modified by the Common Council Committee, on projects for which Public Hearings have been held. The resolution authorizes the levying of special assessments and directs the installation and construction of said public improvements. Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions, determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct and levy special assessments for the following improvements:
6th Aldermanic District
N. Buffum St. - E. Locust St. to E. Chambers St. (ST211180267) Install traffic calming speed hump(s). (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $6,900; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $2,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $8,900. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.
6th and 7th Aldermanic Districts
N. 24th Pl. - W. Vienna Ave. to W. Melvina St. (ST211180260) Install traffic calming speed hump(s). (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $8,000; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $2,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $10,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.
12th Aldermanic District
W. Grant St. - S. 17th St. to S. 19th St. (ST211190164) Install traffic calming speed hump(s). (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $5,200; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $9,600). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $14,800. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.
S. 12th St. - W. Harrison Ave. to W. Hayes Ave. (ST211190166) Install traffic calming speed hump(s). (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $15,300; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $2,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $17,300. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.
S. 17th St. - W. Windlake Ave. to W. Lincoln Ave. (ST211190169) Install traffic calming speed hump(s). (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $14,000; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $2,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $16,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020 construction season.

N. 23rd St. - W. Wright St. to W. Center St. (ST211190136) File Number: 191785; Concrete pavement reconstruction, replace all curb and gutter, replace sidewalk and driveway approaches where necessary, sodding (5’ width of tree border area), and grading. (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $30,800; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $550,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $590,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020-21 construction season.
N. 24th St. - W. Brown St. to W. Garfield Ave. (ST211190133) File Number: 190036; Asphalt pavement resurfacing, replace all curb and gutter, replace sidewalk and driveway approaches where necessary, sodding (7’ width of tree border area), and grading (Assessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $18,300; Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $335,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $380,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2020-21 construction season.

Whereas, Notices have been sent to all interested persons and public hearings held; now, therefore, be
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works’ Report, as amended at said Public Hearing, is approved and the properties therein identified are benefited; and, be it
Further Resolved, That said Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work in accordance with said report pursuant to Section 66.0703 and any other pertinent sections of the Wisconsin Statutes and in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the proper departments take such action as is required of them to assess the abutting or adjacent properties and collect such assessment in the manner directed by Section 115-42 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the projects do not involve any parcels of agricultural land which are eligible for deferred special assessments under the provisions of Section 14.30 of the Milwaukee City Charter; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That projects: N. Buffum St. (ST211180267); N. 24th Pl. (ST211180260); W. Grant St. (ST211190164); S. 12th St. (ST211190166); S. 17th St. (ST211190169); N. 23rd St. (ST211190136); N. 24th St. (ST211190133) will be billed after January 1, 2022, but not before 12 months after the project contract has been completed; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the following project be deleted from the 2020 Paving Program: S. 14th St. (ST211190204) and, be it
Further Resolved, [that the limits be clarified for the Alley W.Garfield Ave., W. North Ave., W. Lloyd St., N. 51st St., N. 52nd St. (ST212170104); approved on Resolution 200227.
