Resolution approving the submission of a revision to the Housing Authority’s 2020 - 2024 Five-Year Agency Plan

Body
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) is proposing to amend the 2020-2024 Five Year Plan approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and
WHEREAS, the Five-Year Plan is a summary of the mission, goals and objectives that enable HACM to meet housing and other needs of families it serves; and
WHEREAS, this amendment includes additional goals that were not in the original plan, including: (1) submitting a Choice Neighborhood Implementation grant application for College Court and the Near West Side neighborhood, either as an applicant or co-applicant; and (2) ensuring HACM’s sustainability by effectively responding to crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, that require changes in business practices to protect residents and employees; and
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority discussed the proposed changes with the Resident Advisory Board (RAB) meeting on April 23, 2020 and a public hearing at the Board of Commissioner meeting on May 13, 2020; and
WHEREAS, the RAB is supportive of the changes and their comments have been incorporated in the revised 2020-2024 Five-Year Plan; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee that the Amendment to the 2020-2024 PHA Five -Year Agency Plan is hereby approved, and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary-Executive Director is hereby authorized and directed to submit the Amendment to the 2020-2024 PHA Five -Year Agency Plan to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for review and approval
