Analysis

This resolution directs the Department of Administration- Information Technology Management Division and the City Clerk’s Office to investigate and present to the Common Council a recommendation for an online system for receiving donations for official City events.

Whereas, Official public events are a key component to the City’s cultural identity; and

 

Whereas, Sponsorship of public events is an important civic function; and

 

Whereas, Monetary contributions from charities, businesses and private individuals are essential to the continued viability of the City’s robust public events calendar; and

 

Whereas, The receipt and processing of donations for official City events must be secure and efficient, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council directs the Department of Administration- Information Technology Management Division and the City Clerk’s Office to investigate and recommend an online system for the receipt of donations for official City events and to present the recommendation to the Common Council within 12 months of adoption of this resolution.
