Title
A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2020 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.
Analysis
This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:
All Departments, Fire Department, Health Department, Library Department of Public Works (Transportation Fund, Water Works)
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 26, 2019 - December 15, 2019):
Under Pay Range 1EX, delete the title of “Library Branch Manager (7)(21)” and add the title of “Library Branch Manager (13)(27)”.
Part 2. Part 1, Section 3 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 3GN, delete the title “Lead Risk Assessor I (3)(10)”, add the title “Lead Risk Assessor I (2)(5)”, delete the title “Parking Meter Technician - Lead (5)(12)”, add the title “Parking Meter Technician - Lead (3)(6)”, delete the title “Radiologic Technologist (1)(3)(8)(10)”, and add the title “Radiologic Technologist (1)(2)(4)(5)”.
Part 3. Part 1, Section 7 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 7HN, delete the title “Fire Maintenance Technicain (1) (10)” and add the title “Fire Maintenance Technician (1) (10)”.
Under Pay Range 7RN, delete the current “Wage Rate” and “Resident Rate Incentive” rates and replace with the following rates:
“Wage Rate:
Hourly 31.89 39.93
Biweekly 2,551.03 3,194.38
Annual 66,326.78 83,053.88”
“Resident Rate Incentive:
Hourly 32.84 41.13
Biweekly 2,627.56 3,290.21
Annual 68,316.56 85,545.46”
Part 4. Part 2, Section 5 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Part II, Administration, Section 5, Promotions and Special Pay Practices, insert new paragraph “H.” to read as follows:
“H. Severe Weather Emergency: In the event that employees are directed by an appropriate authority to not report to work as a result of a severe weather emergency declaration by the Mayor, employees shall be compensated at their base salary rate for their regularly scheduled work day. These hours shall not be considered as time worked for purposes of computing overtime.”
Part 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 6. The provisions of Part 1 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 26, 2019 (December 15, 2019).
The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
Part 7. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
