Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Maintenance Covenant document titled Green Infrastructure Ten-Year Maintenance Covenant for green infrastructure located in the medians of West Good Hope Road between North 91st Street and North 107th Street in the 5th Aldermanic District and West Mill Road between North 51st Street and North 91st Street, in the 2nd, and 9th Aldermanic Districts.

Body
Whereas, Stormwater pollution control is an important component of the City of Milwaukee’s (City) storm water management regulations and the City’s stormwater permit with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR); and

Whereas, Nonpoint sources such as roadways have been recognized as the primary source of environmental pollution by discharging polluted runoff directly into the local streams and water bodies, threatening natural habitat and species; and

Whereas, In 2016, the City was awarded Green Solutions Funding from Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD); and

Whereas, The funds allowed the construction of bioswales in the medians of medians of West Good Hope Road between North 91st Street and North 107th Street and on West Mill Road between North 51st Street and North 91st Street; and

Whereas, The agreement for said funding requires that, in order for the MMSD to reimburse the City for the cost of the project, the City shall execute a maintenance ...
