Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2019 offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the offices and positions in the following departments:

Department of Administration - Purchasing, Employes’ Retirement System, Fire Department, Department of Public Works - Operations Division

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 180629 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2019 - December 30, 2018):

 

Under “Employes’ Retirement System, Membership Services”, delete one position of “Disability Deputy Director” and add one position of “ERS-Disability Deputy Director”.

 

Under “Fire Department, Support Services Bureau, Construction and Maintenance Division”, delete nine positions of “Fire Mechanic III”, add nine positions of “Fire Mechanic”, delete one position of “Fire Building and Equipment Maintenance Specialist”, add one position of “Fire HVAC Maintenance Technician”, delete one position of “Fire Equipment Compressed Air Technician”, delete one position of “Fire Equipment Repairer II”, delete two positions of “Fire Equipment Repairer I”, delete one position of “Fire Mechanic Helper”, delete two positions of “Inventory Control Assistant III”, delete one position of “Fire Shop Assistant”, and add eight positions of “Fire Maintenance Technician”.

 

Under “Department of Public Works - Operations Division, Fleet Services Section”, delete one position of “Fleet Systems Manager (X)”, five positions of “Heavy Equipment Lubricator (B)”, one position of “Special Fleet Services Laborer”, three positions of “Garage Attendant”, and two positions of “Fleet Equipment Service Writer”; and add seventeen positions of “Fleet Maintenance Mechanic” and one position of “Fleet Repairs Manager (X)”.

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 180629 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 22, 2019 - October 20, 2019):

 

Under the “Department of Administration - Purchasing, Procurement Services”, delete four positions of “Purchasing Agent - Senior (Y)” and add four positions of “Procurement Specialist (Y)”.

 

Part 3.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 4.  The provisions of Part 1 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2019 (December 30, 2019).

 

Part 5.  The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 22, 2019 (October 20, 2019).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 6.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
