Resolution amending Common Council Resolution File Number 190445 to allow appointees to the City-County Task Force on Climate and Economic Equity to reside outside the City of Milwaukee, but within Milwaukee County.
Analysis
This resolution, pursuant to chapter 320 of the Code of Ordinances, amends Common Council File Number 190445 adopted on July 9, 2019, to allow appointees to the City-County Task Force on Climate and Economic Equity to reside outside the City of Milwaukee limits, but still reside within Milwaukee County.
Body
Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 190445 on July 9, 2019, creating a City-County Task Force on Climate and Economic Equity; and
Whereas, The Task Force is comprised of representatives from government agencies and organizations across Milwaukee County; and
Whereas, Section 320-3 of the Code of Ordinances states that, unless exempted by State law, City ordinance or resolution, all appointees to any City board, commission, or committee shall be residents of the city; and
Whereas, Appointees residing outside of City limits, but within Milwaukee County boundaries, are essential to the success of the Task Force; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council File Number 190445 is amended by adding the following “Further Resolved” clause before the first “Further Resolved” clause:
“Further Resolved, That appointees to the City-County Task Force on Climate and Economic Equity may reside outside City of Milwaukee limits, provided they reside within Milwaukee County; and, be it”
