Resolution commending Ms. Debra LaRosa for over 39 years of dedicated service to the City of Milwaukee and the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee

Analysis

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Deb Larosa has retired after 39 years of service to the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Deb Larosa has served the Housing Authority and its residents for many years by directing the Housing Choice Voucher program, also known as rent assistance or Section 8; and

 

WHEREAS, in her role leading the Housing Choice Voucher program, Deb Larosa helped to implement many innovations that have assisted numerous low-income families, including: the Family Self Sufficiency program that assisted voucher participants in finding employment and increasing their household income; project-based vouchers for supportive housing and other housing developments; the Section 8(y) program that has assisted families in purchasing homes through the use of a voucher; and the Rental Assistance Demonstration program (RAD); and

 

WHEREAS, under the leadership of Ms. Deb Larosa, HACM’s Housing Choice Voucher program has consistently been rated a “High Performer” by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development;

 

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee wishes to recognize Deb Larosa for her strong leadership over the course of her career, assisting many thousands of low income families in finding quality affordable housing in the private market and in HACM housing developments; now therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, by the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee that Ms. Deb Larosa be and is hereby thanked and commended for her 39 years of dedicated service to the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that best wishes be extended to Ms. Deb Larosa for a long and fulfilling retirement.
