Title
Resolution relating to the application and acceptance of an outdoor recreation grant for Century City Triangle Neighborhood Park, from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Local Assistance Program.

Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Department of Public Works to apply for and accept a State of Wisconsin outdoor recreation grant to make improvements to Century City Triangle Neighborhood Park, located at 2900 West Hopkins Street.

Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee may be eligible to apply for outdoor recreation grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for improvements to Century City Triangle Neighborhood Park, located at 2900 West Hopkins Street; and

Whereas, This grant may result in benefits to the City which include:
Increasing the quantity and quality of play among local residents of all ages and abilities
Creating a space that reflects neighborhood needs, interests, and characteristics
Strengthening relationships between community residents and institutional stakeholders
Promoting positive neighborhood development
Building on community identity as an eco-friendly, sustainable community
Developing the park space as a hub for community gathering and programming; and

1. Increasing the quantity and quality of play among local residents of all ages and abilities.

2. Creating a space that reflects neighborhood needs, interests, and characteristics.

3. Strengthening relationships between community residents and institutional stakeholders.

4. Promoting positive neighborhood development.
