Title:
Resolution relating to acceptance, and funding of a Speed Enforcement 2019 grant (Police Department).

Analysis:
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Police Department to accept and fund a Speed Enforcement grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of State Patrol, Bureau of Transportation Safety in the amount of $137,500 with the grantor funding $110,000 and the City providing an in-kind match of $27,500. The purpose of this grant is for the enforcement of speeding and operating under the influence by motor vehicle operators.

Body:
Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA #20.600, the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for a Speed Enforcement grant from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Division of State Patrol, Bureau of Transportation Safety, and

Whereas, The operation of this grant from 1/1/2019 to 9/30/19 would cost $137,500 of which $110,000 would be provided by the grantor and $27,500 would be provided by the City as an in-kind match; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, the Police Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code Ordnances; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2019 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: 2019 Speed Enforcement Grant:

2. Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Milwaukee Police Department which is authorized to:

Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
