Body
Whereas, Plaintiffs Estate of Derek Williams, Jr. by Sharday Rose, and Tanijah, Taliyah S., and Derek Williams, III, filed a lawsuit against the City of Milwaukee and certain employees thereof, and
Whereas, the City has agreed to settle the lawsuit for the amount of $2,050,000., and
Whereas, the City Attorney recommends and the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee deems it expeditious and just to pay this claim; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that proper City officers be and hereby are authorized and directed to issue City checks totaling the amount of $2,050,000. payable as follows: $876,657.64 to Samster, Konkel & Safran, S.C. Trust Account, 1110 North Old World Third Street, Suite 405, Milwaukee, WI 53203, and $1,173,142.36 to Mutual of Omaha Structured Settlement Company - Annuity for Williams Family, c/o Sharon Kamp, Fazio National, 156 Four Master Road, Freeport, TX 77541, in full and final payment of any claims raised in the subject lawsuit, upon receipt of a General Release of Claims, approved as to form and execution by the City Attorney; said amount to be charged to Damages and Claims Account-636506 - Fund No. 0001 - Organization 1490 - Program 2631 - Sub Class S118.
