Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to enter into a “PILOT PrEP CLINIC AGREEMENT” between the Health Department and the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin.

Body

Whereas, The Health Department and the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin (ARCW) provide comprehensive services for the LGBTQ community and those at-risk of HIV and other infections, and are committed to the prevention of HIV/AIDS in Wisconsin; and

Whereas, ARCW provides Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) clinical and prescription services in line with the Wisconsin Department of Health guidelines; and

Whereas, The Health Department desires to enhance HIV prevention for the clients it serves; and

Whereas, The Health Department and ARCW wish to collaborate on the provision of PrEP services to at-risk individuals through the presence of a pilot ARCW PrEP clinic at the Health Department’s Health Center at 3200 N. 36^th Street; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council authorizes the Health Department to enter into a “PILOT PrEP CLINIC AGREEMENT” between the Health Department and the AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin.
