This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works. Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and
Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:
4th Aldermanic District
W. Michigan St. - Bridge over the Milwaukee River (BR100190105) File Number 141514: Rehabilitation of vertical lift bridge, fixed approach spans and approaches. (City Share Non-assessable Structure Fund - $12,000,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $13,200,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019-2020 construction season.

W. Burleigh St. - Bridge over the Menomonee River (BR100190104) File Number 151420: Rehabilitation of 3 span fixed bridge and approaches. (City Share Non-assessable Structure Fund-- $2,500,000). The total estimated cost for the project including the requested amount is $2,800,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.
W. Burleigh St. (south-side) - N. Menomonee River Pkwy (east) to N. Menomonee River Pkwy (west) (ST210140106) File number 181383: Install asphalt mixed use recreational trail. (Non-Assessable New Paving Fund - $25,000). The total estimated cost of the project including the requested amount is $30,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

W. Townsend St. - 120’ east of N. 24th St. to N. 24th Pl. (SM495180053) File Number 180399: Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $175,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $187,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.
N. 19th St. - W. Chambers St. to W. Hopkins Ave./W. Burleigh St. (SM495180039) File Number 180399: Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $287,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $299,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.
N. 24th St. - W. Hopkins St. to W. Townsend St. (SM495180052) File Number 180399: Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $232,000). The total estimated cost of this project including the requested amount is $244,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2019 construction season.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
