Resolution approving an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement for the provision of law enforcement services to Milwaukee Public Schools for the Midnight Sports League between the City and the Milwaukee Board of School Directors.
Analysis
Resolution approving an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement for the provision of law enforcement services to Milwaukee Public Schools for the Midnight Sports League between the Milwaukee Police Department (“MPD”) and the Milwaukee Board of School Directors (“Board”). Under this Agreement, the MPD shall furnish a fully-marked police squad with two (2) uniformed officers to patrol each of the interior areas within the school that will house Midnight Basketball League events and programming, as well as those exterior areas of the designated school that the MPD determines would benefit from the patrols. The squad shall patrol the above-defined areas each League night continuously from 7:30 pm until 12:30 am. The Board will reimburse the MPD at for actual overtime of the Officers for an amount not to exceed $40,100 in any League year. This will be an on-going Agreement with the option to terminate for cause or convenience (with 30 day notice).

Whereas, The MPD and Board would like to enter into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement for the provision of law enforcement services to Milwaukee Public Schools for the Midnight Sports League; and
Whereas, The Police Department may enter into agreements exceeding $50,000 that have been approved by the Chief of Police as indicated in Section 312-26, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; now therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the attached agreement with Milwaukee Board of School Directors, is authorized, and the Police Department shall accept these funds without further approval.
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Intergovernmental Agreement for the Midnight Sports League between the Milwaukee Board of School Directors and the City of Milwaukee is approved; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the proper City officials are authorized to execute the Agreement with the Board.
