Minutes note: Warren Jones, Travaux’s Vice President of Construction, explained this is the first time this vendor will be used. Gabe DeVougas, HACM Section 3 Coordinator, explained that the overall EBE goal for Westlawn Renaisasnce III is 25% and the current percentage is 47%. The percentage is monitored throughout the project. It is anticipated that they’ll be more opportunities for EBE participation in the smaller contracts of the project. Director McCarthy congratulated the team involved in the YouthBuild document that was sent out to the Directors. Director Hurtado added that she had shared the document with firms she knew and that six of them accepted her challenge to interview graduates of the program. Director Pérez noted that HACM hired three from the last cohort. Director Wagner shared stories from the YouthBuild graduation and HACM’s @Promise program.

WHEREAS, Travaux Inc. solicited sealed bids by Official Notice Number 57915 during the period December 7, 2018 through December 21, 2018 for Residential Casework (Commodity Only) for Multi-Family Apartment Building 2.2 at Westlawn Gardens Phase 2; and

 

WHEREAS, two sealed bids were received by the deadline of 2:00 PM (CST) on December 21, 2018; and

 

WHEREAS, the sealed bids were received and publicly opened on December 21, 2018, during which the bidding procedure was conducted in compliance with the requirements of local, state, and federal regulations; and

 

WHEREAS, Builders FirstSource Inc., the lowest bidder and a qualified and competent bidder, submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid in the amount of $180,243.00, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the Board of Directors of Travaux Inc. that they hereby authorize and approve accepting the bid of and entering into a contract with Builders FirstSource Inc. for Residential Casework (Commodity Only) for Multi-Family Apartment Building 2.2 at Westlawn Gardens Phase 2; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that funds for these services will come from Westlawn Renaissance III LLC; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper officers of Travaux Inc. be and hereby are authorized and directed to properly execute said contract for and on behalf of Travaux Inc.; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that if any extensions of the time of performance are needed the officers of Travaux Inc. may approve such request without any further action of the Board of Directors Travaux Inc.; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that all of above is contingent upon receiving the approval of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, if required; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that all acts previously performed relative to this matter by the Board of Directors of Travaux Inc. and the officers of Travaux Inc. be and hereby are approved, ratified, and confirmed in all respects.
