Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works and Comptroller to enter into a funding agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation under the 2009 Highway Safety Improvement Program for the installation of traffic signal improvements at the intersection of West Oklahoma Avenue and South 35th Street in the 8th and 11th Aldermanic Districts at a total estimated cost of $4,126.08, with an estimated grantor share of $3,713.47, and an estimated City share of $412.61, and to install these improvements upon execution of the agreement. This resolution also authorizes the Comptroller to establish and transfer funds to the appropriate accounts for the project.

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee authorized execution of a Project Agreement for the installation of traffic signal improvements at the intersection of West Oklahoma Avenue and South 35th Street under the 2009 Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) under File Number 071689; and
Whereas, The Surface Transportation Program provides cost participation for the construction of traffic control signal improvements in conjunction with Federal/State Aid under the 2009 HSIP; and
Whereas, The HSIP is intended to reduce the number and severity of vehicle and pedestrian crashes; and
